Makalu Base Camp is one of the most popular trekking trails in the base camp (5,000 meters) of world’s fifth highest mountain on the earth, Mt. Makalu (8,463 meters) lying in the heart ofeastern Nepal. Trekking in Makalu and Everest Region are close to each other. To reach Chichira, you should take two drives from Kathmandu valley, firstly leading to Tumlingtar and finally Chichira. The trekking trail from here follows the way passing through Num, Seduwa, Tashi Gaun, Khongma Danda, Dobate, Yangri Kharka, Langmale Kharka and finally Makalu Base Camp. After exploring the base camp, you can trek back to Yangri Kharka, Dobate, Khongma Danda, Tashi Gaun, Seduwa, Num and finally Tumlingtar again completing your wonderful journey. However, the main reason of trekking in Makalu Base Camp includes touching and exploring the base camp of world’s fifth highest mountain, capturing gorgeous mountain and scenic views all around, experience true mountain life and experiencing the wonderful mountainous journey to the Himalayas of Nepal.
